Since joining the University of Chicago as Clinical Director of Nuclear Medicine in 2002, Dr. Appelbaum has overseen the
development of the hospital’s PET/CT Imaging Center. A tireless educator, Dr. Appelbaum is a highly sought-after speaker
for clinical nuclear imaging, particularly PET and PET/CT. Recent speaking invitations include the Chicago Radiological
Society, the Saginaw/Flint Radiological Society, Northwestern Breast Imaging Course, the national Thyroid Cancer Survivors'
Conference, a visiting professorship at Michigan State University, as well as numerous grand rounds in community hospitals
regionally and nationally. Dr. Appelbaum has lectured for many years at the University of Chicago Annual Radiology Review
where he now serves as its Course Director.
