The Department of Radiology, the Urban Health Initiative (UHI) and the Breast Specialized Programs of Research Excellence (SPORE) Center at the University of Chicago Medical Center are excited about the opportunity to participate in the state funded Illinois Breast and Cervical Cancer Program (IBCCP). The program is designed to increase access to breast and cervical services, screening and diagnostic, for uninsured women in Illinois.
A key partner in the South Side Healthcare Collaborative (SSHC), Chicago Family Health Center (CFHC) is designated by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) to serve as a Lead Institution for the IBCCP, a role that involves outreach to identify the target population, case management, and coordination of care. Our medical center will partner with CFHC and IDPH, as well as other federally qualified health centers with the SSHC that refer women to CFHC as a Lead Institution.
This is an example of our medical center furthering our mission to serve the needs of the community while establishing partnerships with community health centers and government agencies.
Please contact the Urban Health Initiative at 773.702.1247 if you have any questions or concerns about the program.
