Description
Residency in Diagnostic Radiology at the University of Chicago is a four-year program based on a subspecialty track system, with rotations in thoracic and cardiac imaging, musculoskeletal imaging, abdominal ultrasound and CT, GI/GU, nuclear medicine, neuroradiology, pediatric radiology and angiography/interventional radiology as well as mammography and magnetic resonance imaging. A required radiological physics and radiation biology course with practicum is held two hours per week in the first year. Residents are offered the opportunity to attend the six-week course in radiological pathology at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology in Washington, DC, during their third year.

All positions are filled through the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP) utilizing the Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS). For information, please visit their website at www.aamc.org/eras. Our categorical positions (C) include the transitional year performed at the University of Chicago in Internal Medicine. Our advanced positions (A) allow you to serve your transitional year elsewhere and begin here in your postgraduate year two. Currently we are accepting applications for categorical positions to begin in 2006, and advanced positions to begin in 2007.

Conferences
Teaching conferences consist of two daily noontime conferences, weekly seminars, and approximately forty clinical conferences conducted by faculty each week. Grand Rounds and Research Conferences are scheduled on a regular basis. The following is a general outline of our 4-year program. Actual schedules vary from resident to resident.
First Year (PGY 2)
